The Association was formed pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Arab Federation for Engineering Industries at a meeting held in in Cairo in April 2004.

The Association is managed by an executive committee comprising 3 members representing the three geographical regions that the Arab World was divided into, as adopted by the meeting. These regions are as follows:

  • Arabian Gulf
  • Arab Levant
  • Arab

Activities:

The Executive Committee of the Arab Cable Manufacturers Association held its first meeting in Beirut which was attended by all members who represented the three regions; Arab Maghreb, Arab Levant and the Arabian Gulf.

During this meeting Midal Cables was unanimously chosen to be the domicile of the Executive Secretariat of the Association in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This unanimous decision comes in recognition of the initiative of Mr.Hamid Al Zayani at the meeting of Arab cables manufacturers held last April in Cairo. The Executive Committee of the Arab Cable Manufacturers Association was elected at the meeting, representing the Arab World from east to west. The initiative of Mr. Hamid Al Zayani was instrumental in transforming the Arab Cables Manufacturers Association from an idea to a reality.

At the same meeting Mr. Hamid Al Zayani was also unanimously chosen as the General Secretary of the Executive Secretariat, and Mr. Khalid Al Jowder as Reporter to the Executive Secretariat.

One of the most important goals that the General Secretariat intends to achieve is to hold in the Kingdom of Bahrain the first Arab conference to focus on the electrical and telephone cable manufacturing industry and to discuss a number of issues relating to this industry.
