FIRST ARAB CABLE CONFERENCE

First ArabCab ConferenceThe first Arab Cable Conference will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 25th-27th April 2005, at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Minister of Electricity & Water. HE Dr. Mohamed Gamaluddin Bayoumi, Arab Investors Union, Secretary General, will be the official spokesman and Keynote Speaker for the Forum. Also speaking at the Forum will be Mr. Sherif A. Khalek, Director, Trade Development, who will speak on Financing Inter-Arab Trade, Mr. Khalid Al Oboodi, Deputy General Manager, Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, speaking on Financing Investment & Export, Mr. Fahad Rashid Al Ebrahim, General Manager, The Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation, speaking on Investment Guarantees, Mr. Anwar Ghazawi, Secretary General, Arab Federation for Marine Shipping and Mr. Mahmood Al Abdullat, Sceretary General, Arab Federation for Land Transportation conjointly speaking on Transportation, Sea and Land.

The Forum will discuss the development of cable manufacture in the Arab world, sea and land transportation facilities between the Arab states- including the Arab Transportation Federation and several key seaport presidents in the Arab states, exchange of expertise between Arab companies, countering the dumping policy pursued by foreign companies in Arab markets, establishing Arab laboratories to issue technical compatibility certificates for Arab-made products, standardizing Arab technical specifications, and co-ordinating Arab production capabilities based on constructive integration not harmful competition and dumping.
