 The Second Conference was held Under the Patronage of H.E. Dr.Moh'd Bu Talib, The Minister of Energy & Mining in the Kingdom of Moroco on 13th – 14th of May, 2006 at Marrakech, Morocco. This conference saw an improved number in participants as it welcomed delegates from around the world. The members grew from 25 in 2005 to over 70 members at the end of 2006
The Second Conference focused on the aspects related to PVC & Polyethylene along with the aspects related to Aluminium & Copper in the field of cable and wire industry. It also discussed the use of facilities available from London Metal Exchange (LME) in future buying and hedging of the commodities concerning the cable and wire industry. The topics were presented by the top company representatives of the industry like SABIC of Saudi Arabia, CRU and SEMPRA of the United Kingdom
The Second Conference was a supported by the cable companies from the Arab World, Midal Cables Limited, Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Cables Company, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Cables Company, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nexans, Kingdom of Morocco, TUMAG Cables, Kingdom Of Morocco, MESC (Middle East Specialized Cables), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Gulf Cable & Electrical Industries, Kuwait & Dubai Cable Company (DUCAB), UAE were among the main companies supporting the conference
The total turnover of the Cable and Wire companies of the Arab World reached US$ 3 Billion by the end of 2005.
